A friend and I have joined WZBC, the radio of Boston College. This semester we host a radio show on Thursdays from 1-2. We've only had two shows so far, and while the first one was somewhat of a train wreck, the second one was already infinitely better. Hopefully our progress with continue on this trajectory for the rest of the semester! We are on the AM channel this semester, and have the opportunity to move up to the FM station at the beginning of next year. WZBC broadcasts to a 50 mile radio in the Boston Area. Thursday February 24th: Special Finer Things Club edition

     Yes, Finer Things Club is from The Office. But, at the beginning of the year, six girls tired of the lack of enjoyment at most parties decided to band together and put on their own, and quite creative, themed parties. Our first theme was classy, then came bohemian, then came gentlemen's night, then ugly christmas sweaters, then 90's night, and finally, tea party. You can use your imagination to imagine what the other get togethers look like, but let me assure you, we go all out for our fun. Last night the six of us sported our tea part best, with food and decorations to match!

A Semester of Effort

As the second semester was well under way, my roommate and I were beginning to become more and more frustrated with the lack of effort most girls put into their everyday clothing on a college campus. Hannah and I, (yes, my roommate’s name is Hannah and mine is Anna, it’s hilarious! And easy to remember too. ) decided to spend a whole semester, or as long as we could anyway, putting effort into our appearance, and documenting it for proof. This commences our ongoing project, appropriately titled, A Semester of Effort. We will strive to look cute during the day and going out, and will take pictures to prove it. Along the way we might add a few of our friends here and there, but our goal is to see if we can look cute every day for ourselves. Laugh at our clothing choices, be inspired, but most of all, enjoy!

J.D. Saligner

     J.D. Salinger has to be one of my favorite authors of all time. His writing style never ceases to captivate me and his characters feel like they could walk off the page, continuing their conversation in my living room. 

     Below is a letter I came across on the internet, it is written to a Mr. Herbert, who has proposed to turn The Catcher in the Rye into film. 

    His response illustrates beautifully the realness of the characters. It's almost as if Holden Caulfield is so real that no actor could ever portray him accurately.
